Kaz is visiting
Cincinnati before conducting a workshop and retreat "Calligraphy
in Color: Zen Brushwork" at Furnace Mountain (Sept 19 - 21). The
CZC talk will be on "The Meaning of the Circle," and meditation
practice will follow. No pre-registration needed. Donations are encouraged.
The workshop at Furnace Moutain will provide participants with a rare
opportunity to creatively explore the tradition of East Asian calligraphy
with a renowned teacher.

Dae Gak will offer a Dharma Talk open to all. No preregistration or
fee, although donations are accepted.
Weekend
Retreat with Zen Master Dae Gak--Sat 10/4 through Sun 10/5,

Retreat
begins at 7 am Saturday morning and ends with lunch on Sunday. There
are no on-site overnight accommodations. Vegetarian meals are provided.
The fee is $85 and preregistration is required.
Intro
to Zen Workshop--Sat 10/25, 1 pm

The workshop provides an orientation to Zen, sitting and walking meditation,
open dialogue about Zen, and an opportunity to practice the meditation
forms. The format is interactive, with plenty of time for questions.
Good for beginners or for those seeking a refresher. Kosen Osho, our
visiting teacher from the Furnace Mountain Zen Center, will lead this
workshop. Suggested donation of $30 ($8 students). Preregistration required.
One
Day Zen Intensive--Sun 10/26, 9 am
to 3 pm,
Cincinnati Zen Center
Kosen Osho will lead this 6-hour intensive practice. The session includes
sitting and walking meditation, a dharma talk, tea ceremony, and dialogue
practice. It is great for those considering or curious about retreats.
Regular Sunday practice will still be held (9:00 - 10:30 am). Suggested
donation of $30 ($8 students). Preregistration required.
Wake
Up to Who You Are, seminar by Dr. Robert Genthner (Zen Master Dae Gak),
Monday Oct 27, 7:00 to 8:30 pm, location TBD
Dr. Robert
Genthner (Zen Master Dae Gak) speaks on mindfulness and stress reduction,
including time for an awareness meditation practice. The event is open
to the public. Donations are encouraged to support Dr. Genthner's travel
and a donation for our use of the space. Please plan to arrive before
7 pm. We are not sure yet if pre-registration will be required, so we
will keep you posted.
